Fishing on Independence Pass

The fish are little but really fun to catch. Here are a couple photos from the fourth of July weekend. A hopper pattern with an egg pattern following was a successful set up.

Memorial Day Frying Pan

Even though there are fishermen everywhere today, the fishing is still great. BWO drys and Adams were working really well.

Roaring Fork Fish Catching

Steller Rainbow Trout
Brown Trout
Brown Trout
Down valley towards Glenwood Springs is pretty good right now using a deer hair caddis as a dry fly. Further upvalley towards Basalt and Aspen stonefly nymphs are good as well as egg patterns. Even though the runoff is real big, there are still fish to be had

Frying Pan May 27th

Midge Larvae still in the casing
Blue Wing Olive nymph

Blue Wing Olive and Midge larvae are all over the place right now. If you fish with one of these nymph patters you're sure to hook some solid fish.

Fly Fishing in Aspen May 20th

Spring is here, as are the hatches of a few bug species. The Blue Wing Olive as well as the Stonefly nymphs are in full effect. A good blue wing olive dry placed nicely will also create a difficult scenario for your aquatic friends to ignore.
